On the bright side due to the fact that there are advancements in medical technology with the therapeutic side of things, there is a small variety of insulin pumps on the market today that he is able to choose from that will fit to his personal needs and wants. With medical personnel continuing to improve upon advancements in the Biological, Pharmaceutical and Therapeutic device fields of Medical Technology, there will be more people out there, such as I that will not have to lose their loved ones before their time. Education is one of the most important tools that a society possesses. The right implementation of this tool is one of the greatest ways of assuring the quality of life within a society. The ability to better ourselves, is one of the strongest abilities of the human race. Without the consistent development of the human race, life would be nothing more than survival. At its most basic level of definition, education is nothing more than the teaching of ideas. The early stages of schooling instil more attitude and social skills than knowledge. The younger stages of a person's life are usually the most definable years of their lives. For this reason many rudimentary skills are taught. As the age and skill level of the student increases, more education is based upon the interest of the student. For society to progress and excel every generation must learn just a little more. Education has its downfalls. Students are only taught what society sees fit to teach them. If a society doesn't want students to learn about a certain period of history, then it is not taught. Education is a tool to succeed in life. The quality of education that a student receives depends upon many issues. One of the biggest differences in education is between public and private schools. In a society that values money, such as ours, the rich are given a better background in education than most people. For the general public, students are taught the same material, and excel at different rates than other students. The people that don't grasp the material usually fall behind and become the working class within our society. Those that excel become the backbone of our society, fuelling our economy and developing ideas within our world. The difference in education is not only is not only the skill that is provided, but also the attitude. Every person is different, and some people lack the ability to work in a technical field. Everyone has a place in society, and some people will work hard physically all of their lives.

Sir Thomas Malory wrote Le Morte d’Arthur in the middle of the fifteenth century and it has now become a paradigmatic representation of Middle English Literature. In this essay I am going to look closely at a section of The Tale of Sir Gareth of Orkney; paying close attention to style, theme and lexis used as well as looking at how this passage fits into the society of the fifteenth century. The extract I am going to examine is situated close to the start of the narrative; hence it provides key introductions to characters. Unquestionably one of the main themes of this narrative is chivalry. Chivalry was a concept well known in the fifteenth century and it was seen as the absolute ideal way to conduct oneself†¦show more content†¦These are insulting terms in a chivalric society; the reader sees Kay must be overcome in order for the hero to succeed. In the lexicon used by Kay are the words ‘†browes†Ã¢â‚¬â„¢ and ‘†hog†Ã¢â‚¬â„¢. ‘Browes’ can be used to describe a hill and the word ‘hoge’ means hill also, this represents Kay as something which must be conquered. Kay says that Gareth should have asked for ‘horse and armour’ showing that he is the opposite of chivalric - the antithesis of a role-model. Gareth feels he must prove himself to earn his horse and armour, it is not honourable to be gifted these things. Kay is also disrespectful, he ‘scorned and mocked’ Gareth, these words have connotations of being cheated or deceived again highlighting Kay as an untrustworthy character. Kay shows contempt for Gareth and no mutual respect, a cornerstone or chivalric value, by likening him to a ‘†porke hog†Ã¢â‚¬â„¢, an ugly, bestial metaphor. The fifteenth century was a period where knighthood was in decline and the middle classes were becoming prevalent within society. I believe it is possible Sir Gareth of Orkney was written in order to provide a template of chivalry for the middle classes. It was a fear amongst the aristocracy that the middle classes would rise up and usher in a new society.
